Manitoba's Progressive Conservative government will present its 2018 budget on Monday, March 12th, when the provincial legislature resumes sitting.

(Cameron Friesen)Finance Minister Cameron Friesen says two years ago his government committed to fixing the finances, repair services and rebuild our economy. He says they are keeping their promises and getting results.

Friesen says the second quarter report for the 2017-18 fiscal year shows Manitoba's forecast summary deficit to be at $827 million, an improvement of $13 million from the projected deficit in Budget 2017.

"I look forward to updating Manitobans on the tremendous progress we have made and the next steps we will take to make Manitoba the most improved province in Canada," says Friesen. "It's our priority to keep more money in the pockets of Manitobans and build a brighter future for all of us."
