Police attended to a single vehicle rollover in Steinbach Sunday night. RCMP report it happened around 7:00 on Highway #52 at Giesbrecht Street. A 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck went out of control and rolled. An 18-year-old male from Grunthal and a 17-year-old male were checked over by ambulance personnel and released. Police say the driver will be charged with imprudent driving.

Steinbach RCMP report officers were busy this past weekend doing traffic patrols. They say 23 tickets were issued, mainly for speeding offences on Highway #12. Officers on patrol late Friday evening also came across a person who was driving while disqualified. A 34-year-old male from the RM of Hanover is facing charges.

Steinbach RCMP caught an impaired driver Saturday evening. Acting on a tip, police went to Blumenort at 7:30 p.m. They found the suspect vehicle parked in the lot of a local business. The driver was tested and found to have a blood-alcohol level almost double the legal limit. An 18-year-old male from the RM of La Broquerie was charged with impaired driving.
