The Mayor for Ritchot says he expects to see growth throughout the municipality in 2019.

Chris Ewen says the community of Ste. Agathe continues to prosper on both the residential and commercial sides. He notes there is growing potential there. And in Ile des Chenes, Ewen says there is great commercial potential on the north side of that community. He says there are some open lots that will soon be developed.

(Ritchot Mayor Chris Ewen)Over in Grande Pointe, Ewen says he expects the North Grassie project will really take off. A project which he says has been about ten years in the making, Ewen expects to see at least 200 homes go up over the next two years in the North Grassie development.

Ewen says 2019 should see a significant project completed in the community of St. Adolphe. At a public hearing in November, the community came out in full force to show its approval towards turning a former RV rental centre at 372 Main Street into a daycare facility. The St. Adolphe daycare had 23 spots inside the school. The new facility will have an extra 90 spots, bringing the total to 113. It is expected the daycare could be operational by fall.

And finally, Ewen says communication will continue to be a priority.

"I think council's role is always to make sure they are communicating with their residents," says Ewen. "So I would like to see a stronger push for communication be it, growth on our website to the Ritchot connect app."
