Roadwork that was scheduled to take place this year on Provincial Road 216 and Provincial Road 205 has been delayed.

Manitoba Infrastructure Spokesperson Larry Halayko says the plan was to add a fresh layer of pavement to PR 216 south of Grunthal and to PR 205 between Highway 12 and Grunthal. He notes warmer weather was necessary for the planned repairs to set properly.

"The plan was to undertake a chip seal on those roads to preserve the surface of the highway, however, with the cooler fall temperatures now that have set in and some of the rainier weather that we have had, it wouldn’t be prudent to proceed with those projects at this time because we need a little bit of warmer weather to let those things cure out so those projects will be deferred at this time until next year."

Halayko says the work is dependant on the schedule of the contractors, but it will be completed next summer.
