Sport and Recreation (SAR) Steinbach showed off its new location on Friday and Saturday with an open house.

The new building on Highway 12 opened on Monday, and Co-owner Randy Wolgemuth describes why they held an open house.

"We're doing the open house for several reasons, one is just to open it up even though anyone can come at anytime," he says.  "We had door prizes and refreshments, and today (Saturday) we had lunch.  So just kind of a thank you for all of the people in the area and to have them come out and see what we have to offer."

Wolgemuth and Co-owner Adam Crookes made the decision to move to a new location about a year-and-a-half ago, and Wolgemuth explains what was behind the decision.

"Part of the deal to get the Polaris franchise was to get a new and bigger building, so that was a driving force behind it," he notes.  "But we'd outgrown the other building, we only had room for one tech there.  So there were a number of reasons; service, sales and having a big showroom to display all our products."

Wolgemuth adds the move into the new building has gone extremely well, and they can now display some products no one has seen before.
