Residents of Steinbach should be getting their new garbage and recycling calendars in the mail this week.

Eldon Wallman is Head of Solid Waste for the city. He says there are changes to all five days and urges residents to give the calendar a close look.

Wallman notes Steinbach is a growing city, but not every area is growing at the same pace. He says they try to balance things out so that they service about one thousand homes per day. For that reason, the city is forced to realign garbage days.

According to Wallman, the new calendar is bigger and easier to read. He says it includes important dates such as oil recycling day. It also contains the do's and don'ts for garbage and recycling.

The new calendars are expected to be delivered to Canada Post on Monday and should hit mailboxes beginning Tuesday. Wallman says if you have a mailbox that does not accept fliers, you will not receive the calendar.
