Steinbach residents were already thinking ahead to spring on Friday at the Mayor's Open Door.

Chris Goertzen says one resident expressed concerns about tree trimming on street corner lots.

"If people do live on corner lots and they do have trees or shrubs in those areas, to keep them trimmed back so visibility is clear. We want to continue to have a safe city and people do need to to take responsibility for their lot if they are obstructing traffic visibility."

Another spring related topic that came up was water accumulation issues when the snow starts to melt. Goertzen says city staff work hard to ensure that swales and areas where water tends to pool are cleared.

"If people do notice those type of areas, we do want to encourage them to phone City Hall to let them know where the challenge is. Our staff are out and about but at the same time, sometimes they do miss some areas. Again, this was something that came up early because they are anticipating that there might be some challenges in a few areas."
