The chairperson of the Bethesda Health Care Auxiliary says their fall book faire has gone well.

Phyllis Toews notes their sales don't appear to be decreasing, adding their fall book faire is smaller than their spring counterpart.

"The spring book sale is much bigger. We have several genres of books that we don't bring out in fall at all, we chose only the best sellers," notes Toews. "We are all aging volunteers and it would just be too much to do two major sales in a year. So, this one comes in a little lower simply because we don't have the same number of books."

Toews says with the funds raised they will be purchasing chairs.

"There's a Broda chair that we'll be purchasing. There's an ottoman which can be brought to a patient's room if a person is staying overnight, it can open up into a bed. There are five of those that we're ordering. The other one is a wheelchair type of chair that will be used in emerg."

She adds it's encouraging to see people of all ages coming to buy books from the faire.
