Strong words from Provencher MP Ted Falk on Thursday called for both Federal and Provincial levels government to lift restrictions around the COVID-19 virus and allow ordinary life to resume.

During a virtual meeting of the House Of Commons, Ted Falk noted that jobs have been lost, businesses have closed down and family members have been forced to say their last goodbyes to loved ones over video calls in recent months.

“This is not the way it should be,” stressed the MP who maintains that all of these hardships are products of repressive limitations put in place by governing bodies.

“COVID-19 has been with us for a year now and yet the Liberal Government’s response has failed to mature with the passage of time. This endless cycle of restrictions, some imposed by the provinces and others by the liberal government must end,” he continues. “It’s time to stop the excuses and show some leadership. Protect the vulnerable, provide the vaccines to those who want, and allow everyone else to resume their lives.”

Falk says the Conservative Party of Canada has been pushing their counterparts for more details on their vaccine procurement plans, their intentions to restore the economy, and their timeline in which restrictions will be lifted. According to Falk, the Liberals have remained silent on all fronts. Meanwhile, he believes the government needs to be opening up the country faster than they are and feels their current pace will do more harm than good.
