The Reeve of Hanover has been re-elected as an Eastern District Director for Association of Manitoba Municipalities.

(Stan Toews)Stan Toews was first elected to the post last November when Morris Mayor Gavin van der Linde stepped down in order to run for Vice President. Toews' term expired this year and then this week he was re-elected at AMM's Eastern District meeting.

"I'm quite glad that I got re-elected," shares Toews. "I'm looking forward to fulfilling that position."

Toews has held the position for seven months, noting there was a very steep learning curve. But he feels it is advantageous to Hanover for him to be a Director.

"You get a lot of this information a lot earlier than other people," he says. "You also know where it's coming from and how things are progressing moving forward."

He says his objective is to represent all of southeastern Manitoba to the best of his ability.

RM of Brokenhead Reeve Brad Saluk was also elected as an Eastern District Director.
