A vehicle driving along Highway 1 Tuesday morning, swerved and ended up in the Whitemouth River.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 7am along the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway just past the intersection of Provincial Road 11 in Hadashville. Police say a pickup truck with two occupants, an 18-year-old male driver and a 29-year-old male passenger, swerved to avoid hitting a deer and ended up in the Whitemouth River. RCMP note both men swam away from the vehicle and onto shore safely without injuries.
