It was a hot, windy day Tuesday in southern Manitoba.

Dan Kulak with Environment Canada says the temperature hit 30 degrees in Steinbach, while the strongest wind gust was 67 kilometres per hour around one o'clock. The strongest wind gust in Manitoba Tuesday was 87 kilometres per hour, reported in Dauphin.

Meanwhile, he says they are tracking a weather system that is developing over Montana. The system will track east into North Dakota before moving into southern Manitoba. It could bring rain Thursday night and into Friday.

Kulak say there is the potential for 20 to 30 millimetres of rain with this system. However, he says just how much will fall will depend on where this weather system forms. So, while there will be rain this week in southern Manitoba, Kulak says the question is, where will it fall.
