More information has come out regarding a young woman who was thrown from a horse last Sunday near St. Malo. She remains in a coma in a Winnipeg hospital.

22-year-old Rebecca Fentum-Jones of Winnipeg was riding at a horse-rescue ranch, where she is a volunteer, near St. Malo. The horse stumbled as it crossed the road and Fentum-Jones was tossed over its shoulder, landing on her head on the road. Another rider who was with her happens to be a critical care nurse who immediately called in STARS which rushed her to the Health Sciences Centre.

She has not regained consciousness, and is on a respirator and deeply sedated. Doctors have not yet determined the extent of the damage.
