Steinbach Youth For Christ staff had a chance to share about their experiences working with local youth at the annual YFC Banquet on Thursday.

Executive Director Reuben Singh says their staff members were able to share their stories with approximately 350 people who braved the weather and came to the banquet at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church.

"Some of them are fun and exciting stories, some of them are heartbreaking stories but we want to give those who care about our community a picture of what is going on and so you need both of those stories, the heartbreaking ones and the fun ones, the ones we can celebrate together and the ones we can mourn together."

Singh says YFC Steinbach was able to raise $38,500 at the banquet, breaking the record they set last year by $300.

"This is going to go mostly toward our impact fund and it does just that, it impacts our community. It is the programming, it is the one on ones with our young people, conversations that lead to life change, coming alongside them, those types of things and so we are really excited about people that give to that."

Singh adds some of the money also goes toward their staff members who each have to raise their own support.
