Operation Red Nose is already halfway through their season and with 3 weeks still to come, the need for volunteers is still there.
Kat Bergen volunteered once already earlier this holiday season and she, along with her group, are ready to keep going. "We're going again on the 22nd and I think we're going to do New Years as well," Bergen said Thursday morning.
Working between 9 pm and 3 am isn't always easy but for Kat, it's all worth it because it's a great cause. "All the people we pick up, they're in a great mood. They're so thankful that we're doing what we do. Originally, we signed up for a bunch of nights and they needed people on specific days so we just jumped in."
Operation Red Nose runs every Friday and Saturday night through the holidays and it's a program that Kat really believes in. "They're out there to keep people from drinking and driving but not only just that, people who are tired. These parties get late and even if they're not drinking at all, they can be a danger on the roads. I want to help out people in our community."
There is no obligation as it's a free service. If you'd like to volunteer, 204-424-5133
You can make a lot of new friends volunteering and Kat wanted to thank both Rebecca and Amber for making it such a fun experience.
