The Town of Niverville says water quality is down because residents have not adhered to a request for voluntary water rationing. It says it has been forced to offer less processed water which still meets provincial requirements but is not at the high standards residents have come to expect. In a news release, the town says water may contain higher levels of minerals like iron or manganese which may lead to discolouration of faucets and appliances and potentially, a chlorine odour. The Town of Niverville again asks residents, who receive water from the Spruce Drive treatment plant, to reduce lawn watering. They are asked to limit lawn watering to even numbered days for residents having even numbered civic addresses and residents having odd numbered civic addresses to water lawns on odd numbered days.
