The Toronto Blue Jays Super Camp took place in Ille Des Chene on Tuesday and it was a dream come true for the 160 kids that attended.

Alex Grenier, the driving force behind the event coming to the Southeast was thrilled with turnout. "I was here just after 7 (Tuesday) morning when registration is at 8 and there was already 100 kids here, it was just incredible."

The kids received instructions from Blue Jays Legends Devon White, Lloyd Moseby, Duane Ward and Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar. Alomar knows it's not just a special event for the kids, but the former major leaguers as well. "It's great, we have to realize we were kids once with big dreams and expectations. This is why we're here and to see so many kids, it's amazing. Hopefully it can continue to grow, it's a really great game."

For Alomar who is a two time World Series Champion, to go across Canada and promote the game he loves with the Blue Jays logo on his chest is a dream come true. "I chose the Blue Jays to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, so it shows how much I care about the Blue Jays, about the Canadian people and the Canadian kids. I have my own (charity) Foundation-12 here and even my wife is from here. Everything I have is from Canada. I've enjoyed every moment and real thankful to the Canadian people."

Grenier couldn't be more thrilled at the level of passion for this event. "Our numbers were huge at the beginning of registration and I was given updates throughout and other then Rogers Centre (in Toronto and home to the Blue Jays) we were leading throughout. When we sold out, I was pretty happy. I didn't expect it, so it's pretty good."

"I'm proud of what we've done here." Grenier says as he looks around seeing kids, parents, fellow coaches and instructors smiling as they learn and teach the game they all care so deeply for. "It's amazing. Hopefully it etches something in everyone's mind about baseball in our region that we're going and we will be strong in the future."
