2 Residents of Old Tom Road have received permission to build a 10 lot housing subdivision in the front yards of their acreages.

Judy Gilbert and Rose Giesbrecht say it will be called Ironwood.  Neighbor Russ Fast expressed concern about allowing more wells and sewage holding tanks in the area.  But city council says the area is zoned RRS and those practices are permitted in that category.  Councillor Art Rempel says while he shares Fast's concern, it's too late for that corner of the city since most of it has been developed with wells and low pressure sewer.  But he wants the city to remove this option for the future.  Land use and permits chair Chris Goertzen says the matter is under review and he hopes to have a recommendation for council next month.
