Steinbach emergency services were called to a motor vehicle and bicycle collision Wednesday morning at the corner of Brandt and First Street in Steinbach.

The call came in just before 9 am and Corporal Martens of Steinbach RCMP explains.

"There was a cyclist traveling southbound on Brandt on the sidewalk and a vehicle wanting to turn from first onto Brandt to go north crept forward and made contact with a cyclist." Corporal Martens says the adult female cyclist appeared to be fine and was taken to hospital for precautionary measures. He adds the driver of the vehicle was also fine just a few marks on his car.

Northbound traffic on Brandt Street was blocked up for a few minutes but the scene was cleared by 9 am.
