The Altona Bisons are 2011 Western Canada Baseball Association "AAA" Junior champions. Ryan Johnson gave up just one hit and struck out 10 as the Bisons downed the Innisfail Indians 6-3 in the final on Sunday afternoon at Koskie Field in Winnipeg. Angus Klassen had three hits and drove in three runs for Altona while Johnson, Ryan Gerbrandt and Jon Rempel added two hits each. The Bison finished the round robin in a three-way tie for second place with the host Elmwood Giants and the Manitoba Junior Baseball League champion Carillon Sultans. Altona qualified for the final on the basis of fewest runs allowed in games involving the three teams. The Bison gave up only two runs to both Elmwood and Carillon while the Giants gave up nine runs and the Sultans gave up 13.
