Southeast Helping Hands on Main Street in Steinbach will be a very busy place for the next week as they pack Community Christmas hampers and start to distribute them to people in need. Spokesperson Hank Klassen says Toys Days last week was very successful. He adds they purchase all the food for the hampers to make them consistent. The cost of the food is about $90,000 dollars and they have not yet got the entire amount covered.

"Right now financial is the biggest push that we need because we gave a good push for the toys and now we need to do a good push for financial."

Klassen says hundreds of volunteers will be working on the hampers over the next week or so.

"This week, they're starting to set up and they're starting to prepare the boxes and then they're going to start filling them. That's when the schools kick in and other volunteers. It's going to be a humming place of business there."

Hamper deliveries will take place December 14th, 16th and 20th.
