It is a wet and icy day in southeastern Manitoba.

The temperature in Steinbach has reached +2 degrees Tuesday afternoon. And, with a mix of snow and rain, it has created some slick driving conditions. Parking lots and sidewalks are also very slippery.

Tuesday's weather is a first for 2022. In fact, you have to go all the way back to December 15 to find the last day when the mercury climbed above the freezing mark. It reached +.5 degrees that day. Since then, we have had 54 consecutive days where the temperature stayed below freezing. Fifteen of those days had temperatures as low as -30 degrees.

Environment Canada is calling for winds to be from the west for the remainder of the afternoon. It will be windy with gusts up to 60 km/h. The snow is expected to end overnight, though strong winds will persist. Tonight's low is -9 degrees.

In the Boyd Autobody Road Report, Manitoba Infrastructure is reporting highways in the southeast are bare, with the exception of the Trans Canada Highway east of Ste. Anne where conditions are listed as partly snow covered with slush.
