Hanover fire crews were called out Thursday evening, to one of the bridges on 311 after it reignited.

Luc Lahaie, CAO for the R.M. of Hanover, says Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure brought in their excavators to further dismantle the bridge.

“It was reigniting as it was being taken apart,” he says. “They finally can get to extinguish it now.”

A grass fire on Wednesday destroyed two bridges near the Manning Canal.

As a result of the incident, Hwy 311 between 216 and 206 will be closed for an extended period.
