A Progressive Conservative candidate has stepped forward now that MLA Jack Penner has announced his retirement. The provincial riding of Emerson has it's first Progressive Conservative candidate hopeful.  RM of La Broquerie Chief Administrative Officer Larry Tetrault Monday night announced his intention to run for the office.  The position was left vacant following the retirement of MLA Jack Penner.  He feels 32 years of relating to a multicultural population in the RM has prepared him for this task.  Tetrault feels people of different cultures can work together for a common good.  Two main issues facing people in Emerson are the need for better infrastructure and removal of school taxes from the property tax roles.  He says the people need someone who will fight for the rights of rural Manitobans and he is the man for the job.  Tetrault explains he has been interested in politics for more than 30 years and now feels he has time to make his own contribution to the country.
