Shortly after 9pm on Friday, emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 52 between Steinbach and La Broquerie.
La Broquerie Deputy Fire Chief Miguel Dubé says it appears a pickup truck was travelling east when it struck an SUV that attempted to cross the highway at the intersection with Ekron Road (Road 37E).
“Our crews extricated one patient from the SUV and assisted EMS and RCMP with the care of other patients on scene and traffic control.”

“We closed the highway during the incident.” It was reopened around 10pm.
Dube adds the details and cause of the crash are being reviewed by RCMP.
