From grand openings to customer appreciation sales, it's a good weekend to shop in Steinbach

It's a busy weekend here in Steinbach as Peavey Mart, McMunn and Yates, and E.G. Penner Building Centre all hold big celebrations.  

Vice President of Marketing for Peavey Mart Jest Sidloski says this is their grand opening event for their brand-new Steinbach Location. He notes this is their newest model of store so it looks a little different than any other Peavey Mart you may have seen. 

“This one's around 30,000 square feet. It has around a 1,600 square foot greenhouse on it. It's a new layout and it's a new store experience. You'll see new fixtures, new colors, new signage, so it's brand-new for the people of Steinbach. It offers things like a dog wash, which is the first anywhere in Canada, we've never done that before, so we wanted to bring that to the Steinbach market.” 

Sidloski says Peavey Mart Steinbach’s soft opening was four weeks ago and they’ve been blown away by the turnout. 

“I'm excited about today looking around the story now with all the people. It has been an incredible reception since we opened about a month ago. It's one of our strongest receptions in any new market that we've opened at and that was with limited marketing. We do a soft opening to make sure we get everything right before this big grand opening and the people of Steinbach keep coming back." 

This is the 6th Peavey Mart location in Manitoba and Sidloski says it has been a long time in the making. He notes Peavey Mart CEO Doug Anderson actually got a letter from a young Steinbacher many years ago, begging them to come to the Southeast, and the right opportunity finally presented itself.  

Sidloski invites the community to drop by Friday and Saturday, check out the new store, and get in on all of the great deals and giveaways. 

Meanwhile McMunn and Yates Steinbach is holding their MY Big Anniversary Sale on Friday, celebrating 53 years of business as a Manitoba owned and operated building supply company.  

Store Manager Corwin Penner says they are serving free hot dogs from 11 to 1, they’ve got great deals and prizes, and they are raising money for Agape House in Steinbach. 

And E.G. Penner Building Centre is hosting their Customer Appreciation event Friday and Saturday, and they too have a number of giveaways planned. Up for grabs is an LG washer, outdoor living furniture set, and a Broil King Barbecue.
