Steinbach Fire was dispatched to a structure fire on Davids Bay in Mitchell at 3:30 Monday afternoon.

Assistant Fire Chief Russ Reimer says there were no occupants in the home when crews arrived on scene. "It was the garage where the fire started and it's caught the house on fire. We have an interior crew aggressively attacking the fire on the inside. From the sounds of it at the moment we believe we've got it under control."

Reimer notes the fire is currently active so there is no telling how extensive the damage will be to the home.
