If you’re looking for employment options, the job fair in Steinbach is the place to be.

It takes place on Thursday, March 21st at the Pat Porter Active Living Centre. There were 235 people at the event last year.

Gwen Reimer with Eastman Immigrant Services says a cover letter is one important item people should bring with them to the job fair as they plan to meet with many employers who are looking to hire.

“But bring in a resume, and I always say, bring two or three references because businesses are still calling references. So, you can bring that in a nice package and be prepared to bring a few so that you can give out to a few different businesses.”

Reimer says the job fair is an informative and enjoyable event.

“It’s a great evening of just mingling, getting together, and there’s also an integration part of it, because now you’ve not only got the newcomers in one place, but you're also bringing another people. So, it's great for people to integrate, to mix and mingle.”

The Eastman Immigrant Services job fair happens on Thursday from 3:30pm until 6pm and Reimer notes the event is open to everyone who is looking for employment.
