La Broquerie passed a resolution to join Community Futures Triple R. Reeve Lewis says this will benefit local entrepreneurs.

"It's very similar to the CDC. The difference is that a local, small business starting up could borrow up to $150,000 versus $10,000. I think in today's world, with things being more expensive, it would be a bigger benefit. [Community Futures] take more risks with borrowing than banks usually do, so it's all around, I think, helping to serve the community."

Weiss says Community Futures help individuals with business plans and steer entrepreneurs in the right direction. He notes, as a rural municipality, they have worked with Community Futures in the past and felt it was time to join.

Councillor Ivan Normandeau has been assigned to the Community Futures Triple R board.
