Jocelyne Larocque is a world champion for the second time in her stellar hockey career.

Larocque and her Team Canada teammates defeated the United States 3-2 in overtime last month in Calgary in the gold medal game at the 2021 World Womens' Hockey Championship.

The 33-year-old Ste. Anne product captured her first gold medal in 2012 in Burlington, Vermont.

Canada reeled off seven straight wins in Calgary defeating Finland 5-3; ROC 5-1; Switzerland 5-0 and the United States 5-1 in the preliminary round.

Team Canada then beat Germany 7-0 in the quarterfinals; Switzerland 4-0 in the semifinals before rallying from a 2-0 first period deficit and winning the World Championship on captain Marie-Philip Poulin's golden goal in overtime against the Americans.

Larocque drew an assist on Poulin's OT winner.

Team Canada is now preparing for the 2022 Winter Games which will be held from February 4th - 20th in Beijing.
