It's turning out to be a good harvest for honey producers in Manitoba.
Ron Rudiak of Sunnybrook Bee Farms in Steinbach says the many days of sunshine allowed the bees to get out more often.  However, he is surprised with the quality and amount of honey because we had so much dry weather.
Honey production is expected to be above the provincial average which is around 175 pounds per colony.  Meantime, honey prices are higher this year,  allowing producers who hung on to last year's crop to sell it this year for more money.
