The virus has now been confirmed in 9 people.
3 of the cases are classed as West Nile Neurological Syndrome and 2 are non-neurological. The 4 remaining cases remain under investigation. The last week of July and the first 3 weeks of August have traditionally been the peak period for the risk of human exposure to West Nile Virus in Manitoba.
