The Kleefeld Fire Department kicked off the Kleefeld Community Garage Sale with a pancake breakfast this Saturday.

Fire Chief John Schroeder says thanks to amazing weather, they had an excellent turnout at the breakfast.

“There was about 250 or 300 people here and it is weather related, it is because we had sunshine. People wanted to come out, sit back, have something to eat before they head out and check out all of the garage sales, visit the neighbours, and get out of the house.”

Schroeder says this year the money raised at the pancake breakfast will go towards a new training facility built by the Hanover Fire Department. He says the community garage sale day is the perfect day to hold a pancake breakfast.

“That way the people are in the community already, and we just want to show them our support because they are supporting us all year round, this is something we can do for them.”

There were 24 registered houses participating in this years Kleefeld Community Garage Sale.
