The Steinbach Pistons allowed four power play goals Friday evening en route to a 6-3 loss to the Selkirk Steelers.

The Pistons only managed to kill off three of the seven power plays they faced in the game, including allow two power play goals in the first four minutes of the game.

"Obviously giving up the early power play goals had a huge impact on the outcome of the game," describes Head Coach Paul Dyck.  "I felt it was very, very deflating.  I thought our penalty kill lacked a lot of confidence, and anytime you give up four power play goals you're going to have a hard time winning a hockey game."

Hayden Goderis, Cole Smith and Landon Cross scored the Pistons' goals in the defeat.  Dyck notes the team did some good things, but the penalty kill ultimately sunk them.

"We've got three games in three nights, so there's a lot of hockey this weekend," he says.  "We're going to have to be more efficient all around, I thought we turned the puck over and lost more battles than we would like.  All in all, not the night we were looking for."

The Pistons return to the TG Smith Centre Saturday evening to host the Dauphin Kings before playing their third game in three nights Sunday evening against Winkler, also in Steinbach.
