The province is pumping another $30 million into public schools this year. Education Minister Peter Bjornson says $8 million of that money will be used for special needs students. Another $8.3 million will go toward equalization. $4 million will be used for declining enrolment support and $1.3-million for professional development. Bjornson says he's thrilled to see the funding move directly into the classroom. In addition to funding public schools, the government will contribute an additional $9.5 million to the Teachers' Retirement Allowance Fund for 2007-08.
