They were involved in a high speed chase and investigated several break-ins.

Officers from Steinbach were involved in the high speed pursuit. About 3:00 Saturday morning they noticed a suspicious vehicle near Stonebridge Crossing. When police approached the vehicle it picked up speed and drove through a stop sign. A high speed chase followed with speeds reaching 170 kilometes per hour. Officers decided to abandon the pursuit when drifting snow caused road conditions to worsen. They found the vehicle abandoned in the ditch along PR 210 near Marchand. Police followed fresh tracks to a nearby residence.19 year old Scott Wilfred Marks was arrested and charged with flight from police and a number of other crimes. He is in custody and will face his first court appearance Monday morning.

There was a break-in at Steinbach's Centennial Arena early Sunday morning. Culprits entered the arena through a side door. Once inside they pryed open a locked storage room. A 32-inch plasma television was stolen. The matter is still under investigation.

A couple of incidents in Lorette on the weekend have St. Pierre RCMP turning to you for information. About 11pm Saturday they responded to a break in at All Star Concrete on Main Street Lorette. Several culprits gained entry to one of the main buildings and stole a computer monitor. Also this weekend the Lagimodiere School was broken into and vandalized.
