Ste. Anne Police are monitoring ice conditions on the Seine River following reports of people and pets falling into the water. 

Officers have been out this week to patrol the river, checking for dangerous conditions. 

They report finding some slushy spots and have marked off those areas to alert the public. 

Police state there could be different factors contributing to the instability of ice on river, such as activity from people or animals, or the moving water underneath. 

Within the past two weeks, there have been numerous reports on social media, indicating a few cases where people and/or pets have fallen through the ice. So far, there have been no reports of serious injuries. 

Ste. Anne Police will be closely monitoring the ice conditions and ask that you give them a call if you come across anything unsafe along the river.
