The Brandon Wheat Kings are bringing home silver medals from the Telus Cup in Membertou, Nova Scotia. Anton Boudreau and Marc-Olivier Proteau each had a goal and two assists as the Quebec champion Cantonniers de Magog downed Brandon 4-1 in the gold medal game. Easton Odut had the lone goal for the Wheat Kings. Brandon netminder Burke Hood faced 46 shots. 


The Regina Rebels won the Esso Cup Saturday in Vernon, B.C. The Saskatchewan Female U18 AAA Hockey League champions, who swept the Winnipeg Ice in the West Regionals, shaded the North York Storm 2-1 in the gold medal game. 


The Winnipeg Jets season will be on the line Tuesday night at Canada Life Centre. Valeri Nichushkin had a hat trick and Alexandar Georgiev made 26 saves as Colorado defeated Winnipeg 5-1 Sunday afternoon in Denver. Nathan McKinnon had a pair of assists for the Avalanche who lead the NHL's best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal three games to one. Nate Schmidt scored for the Jets. Connor Hellebuyck allowed four goals on 30 shots before being replaced by Laurent Brossoit at the start of the third period. Brossoit made four saves.


Sarah Nurse recorded her first-ever PWHL hat trick as Toronto downed New York 6-2. With the win, Toronto clinches home-ice advantage for at least the first round of the playoffs, as they moved into first place in the standings. Toronto and Montreal have 41 points each, but Toronto holds the tiebreaker with a game in hand.


Team Canada scored seven goals in the second period en route to an 8-1 victory over Switzerland to stay undefeated at the 2024 World U18 Hockey Championship in Vantaa, Finland. Porter Martone had a hat trick for the Canadians who improved to 3-0 in the preliminary round. Canada's next game is Tuesday against Kazakhstan.
