The Royal Canadian Legion in Steinbach is hoping to do something about declining membership.
Legion membership chair Bill Richards is in charge of membership at the local branch. He says most Legions are struggling to survive because their members are passing away. He encourages the public to get involved with the Legion and the many projects it supports. Richards says anyone can become a member. He adds the Legion does a lot of valuable work in the community such as helping the needy at Christmas, providing bursaries for post secondary education and tending to the sick.
