The Christian Athlete: My Story can be heard each week on AM 1250 Radio on Saturday beginning at 5:40 pm. Hosted by former Manitoba resident and current WHL play by play announcer, Bill Wilms, The Christian Athlete is a 15 minute program that explores the faith journey from various athletes in the world of sport.

On the program this week we’ll hear from Tampa Bay Rays second baseman, Ben Zobrist. Ben was drafted in the 6th round by the Houston Astros in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft and was traded to Tampa Bay in 2006. He has reached the 20 homerun mark three times and is a two time all-star. Zobrist also represented the United States in international competition at the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Ben was born and raised in a Christian household to parents Cynthia and Tom Zobrist, a pastor at a local church. Today, Zobrist often talks about his Christian faith and organizes bible studies with his teammates.

Ben will be sharing some of his experiences as a Christian athlete this Saturday at 5:40 pm.
