Springfield 98's: 16-3-0  32 points - 1st place

The 98's have known they would be in 1st place for a while now, but the team continues to push the accelerator. Wins over two scrappy teams, Grunthal and Ste. Anne, shows that Springfield continues to click and will be the team to beat when the post season rolls around. They have one game left on their schedule before they sit back and watch the first round, waiting for their opponent.

Next games - Thursday Feb. 5th 8:00pm @ Grunthal

Steinbach Huskies: 12-6-0  24 points - 2nd place

The Huskies control their own fate. Win and they clinch second place, lose and they face Red River with 2nd on the line. They have two games remaining and La Broquerie will be looking to get revenge from the last time the two teams met. On Saturday, Steinbach dropped a nail biter to the Wild, down 3-0 after the first, the Huskies battled back only to fall short 5-4. Tanner Harms had a pair of goals in the losing effort

Next games - Wednesday Feb. 4th 8:00pm La Broquerie - Friday Feb. 6th 8:00pm vs. Red River

Red River Wild: 11-8-0  22 points - 3th place

The Wild did what they needed to do, beat the Steinbach Huskies to start a home and home series to close out the regular season. The Wild needed a late goal by Cory Schroeder after coughing up a 3-0 lead, but got two huge points. Red River must now get a little help from the Habs if they want to catch Steinbach for second place before having a chance to take care of business on Friday.

Next games - Friday Feb. 6th 8:00pm @ Steinbach

Grunthal Red Wings: 10-9-0  20 points - 4rd place

After putting together a nice 4 game win streak, the Red Wings have now dropped two in a row, allowing the Aces to keep pace. Three goals in two games is very out of character for the high octane offence while 9 goals against even the top team in Springfield is a wake-up call that adjustments need to be made in the d-zone.

Next games - Thursday Feb. 5th 8:00pm vs. Springfield

Ste.Anne Aces: 9-9-1  19 points - 5th place

Almost the opposite situation for Ste. Anne when compared to Grunthal. While the Red Wings play the top team, the Aces have a date with St. Malo to end their regular season. And, after falling to Springfield in a great game 5-3, confidence going forward is in the corner of the Aces. Trailing the Red Wings by a single point, it's in the Aces hands to leap frog Grunthal and start the playoffs at home.

Next games - Monday Feb. 2nd 7:45pm vs Springfield - Wednesday Feb. 4th 8:00pm vs St. Malo

La Broquerie Habs: 6-11-1-1  14 points - 6th place

Coming off a victory over St. Malo where Paul Gauthier had 2 goals and 1 assist, the Habs will look to put the Huskies down in a game that is all about bragging rights. The Habs haven't forgotten about the last time the two teams met in La Broquerie and it's up to the Habs to end their regular season in a good place as a team. Nothing brings you together like beating your rival.

Next games - Saturday Jan 31st 7:00 vs St. Malo - Wednesday Feb. 4th 8:00pm vs Steinbach

St. Malo Warriors: 2-15-2  6 points - 7th place

The Warriors picked up a huge win against Red River. Not huge when it comes to points in the standings but huge for what it does going into playoffs. Losing can take a toll mentally, but with a little swagger in their step, the Warriors can begin to feel better about their chances. Especially if the Wild catch Steinbach for second and meet St. Malo in the first round.
