A senior from Whitemouth, involved in a crash last week, has died.

Last week Monday, at approximately 2 pm, Selkirk RCMP were on patrol when they came across a two-vehicle collision in the northbound lane on Main Street in Selkirk. One vehicle had three occupants, while the other vehicle had a driver, who was the lone occupant, from the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews.

Investigation has determined that the vehicle with three occupants pulled out of a parking lot onto Main Street when it collided with a northbound vehicle.

Police say an 86-year-old male was the only one injured. He was the front seat passenger. Police say injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. He was transported to hospital in Winnipeg. The 82-year-old female driver and 54-year-old male backseat passenger, as well as the 17-year-old male driver of the other vehicle, were all checked and did not require further treatment.

On Thursday, Selkirk RCMP were informed that the 86-year-old male passenger from Whitemouth had died. An autopsy has yet to be completed. However, police say indications are that the male died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The investigation continues.
