Sabres suffer first loss of the season against Vincent Massey
The 2-0 Sabres travelled to take on the 2-0 Vincent Massey Trojans and fell by a score of 40-0. The game was 7-0 after the first quarter and 21-0 at halftime. The Sabres attempted to rally in the 2nd half, but ultimately, penalties, lack of execution and a quality opponent were just too much. The game could have been closer than the scoreboard, as inches decided many key plays in the game. That is the beauty of the game, you have to make things happen. The Sabres will take the weekend off before embracing the Be Better motto and getting back to work next week as they take on Dakota at AD Penner Park on Friday, Sept. 26, @ 5 pm. The JV Sabres travel to Grant Park to take on the Pirates on Wednesday, Sept 24, @ 4:30 pm. A few highlights: Ryder Wallace was an absolute force on both sides of the line scrimmage. Ben Webster, Ryan Martin and Eric Barnard played a lot of iron man and left it out on the field. Wade Anderson had 20 carries for 78 yards. Braeden Sinclair had 2 catches for 24 yards. Seth Friesen led the defence with 9 tackles. Jeryk Wiebe had 6 tackles. *Sabres report sent by Jamie Peters
