A man from Kleefeld underwent 10.5 hours of surgery after walking into the prop of a Cessna airplane Sunday.It happened on Provincial Road 216, one mile north of Kleefeld, shortly after 4:30 p.m. The airplane had been on display at the EMC church and the owner was taxiing it home. Ken Zacharias offered to do traffic patrol as the plane crossed PR 216 and in the process he walked into the propeller.Zacharias, aged 50, sustained severe cuts to the right side of his body. He was transported to Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, then transferred to the Health Sciences Centre. He's now listed in stable condition.
