Despite not being hockey season yet, the St. Malo Arena was buzzing on Friday evening.  

The St. Malo Summer Fun Day and Arena Renovation Fundraiser was organized by the Rat River Recreation Commission and offered activities like face painting, horse-drawn wagon rides and more.  

The St. Malo Arena is in its first phase for a new ice plant and needs other renovations. Many community members rallied to support the cause, and proceeds from the barbecue supper and 50/50 draw were donated to the arena. 

From live entertainment by artists Catie St. Germain and Real Comeault to free cake and mini donuts, there was no shortage of fun for the families and individuals in attendance.
