The September long weekend is looking like a busy one in the Southeast.

The weekend fun kicks off with Dawson Trail Days on Friday with the Family Sock Hop at the Ste. Anne Curling Club. On Saturday, September 2, the day begins with a pancake breakfast at the fire hall and then moves to Redemptoriste Park with entertainment, petting zoo, carnival games and more.

Saturday night in Ste. Anne wraps up with a Teen Glow In The Dark Dance and Fireworks around 10PM.

All weekend, entry to Provincial Parks is free, as announced earlier in the week. Overnight Camping fees still apply.

On Labour Day Monday Fall on the Farm returns to the Mennonite Heritage Village Museum (MHV) in Steinbach.

Celebrate the labours of the harvest with traditional demonstrations, children’s activities, corn on the cob, and cultural activities.

Robert Goertzen, MHV Program Manager, says the celebrations go beyond just Mennonite traditions.

“We’re just so happy that we can partner with Summer In The City cultural stage again and bring an assortment of dancers and entertainers as well as some cultural food vendors.”

It’s a full day of activities starting at 9 AM at the museum.

“Lots of choices for food and a wonderful day to enjoy with friends and family. The petting zoo is there so the kids, the grandkids, everyone is going to have something to do.”

Then, after a short ‘back to school’ week, next weekend is busy too.

Beausejour hosts the Double-B Agricultural Festival in Beausejour September 8, 9 and 10. Rodeo, midway, children’s activities, fireworks and more.

Enjoy some great eats next weekend as the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce launches Burger Days in Steinbach on Saturday, September 9.
