Toys Days last day is Thursday at Canadian Tire and Superstore.

Southeast residents dropping off toys during Toys Days.

Joanne Dyck is the toy coordinator with Community Christmas and she says Toys Days is their biggest toy collection event, supplying toys to over 1,000 children in the Southeast each year. Dyck notes they tend to need more toys for teens and babies adding there is great community support when it comes to toy donations and volunteer efforts.

"We usually have a team of three or so of us who are there pretty much regularly for the month of December to help collect toys and sort them into age categories. Then we also bring in the volunteers that will do the wrapping. There we have anywhere from 20 to 30 people who come in. So, we have an average of 30 to 40 people who come and deal directly with the toys."

Dyck adds in past years they have had to use money donations to buy Christmas presents, however, Toys Days has been able to supply toys for all the children on their list thanks to the community support.
