Landmark Collegiate is celebrating the graduation of 33 students Wednesday.

Principal Greg Sawatzky says he would describe this class as diverse with a range of opinions, interests, and views of the world.

"They don't all commonly share [views or interests], and I think that's good because it helped this group see different perspectives, be more open, and see the world in a different way."

Sawatzky notes with this being the last class born solely in the '90's it's a reminder time is ticking by quickly and the world is constantly changing.

"Being the last class born in the '90's indicates they are entering a different world then when I graduated, they're entering a world that is constantly changing. So, I hope one of the things we've done is provide the groundwork for them, to enable them to manage and meet the change."

He says he also hopes these graduates contribute to making the world a better place and carry with them a good attitude.

"I'm a strong believer in attitude and mindset. There's a quote I came across one time, life is 20% what happens to you and 80% how you respond to it. I think if they keep that in mind, they will be set."

Valedictorian Brittney Huszar says she was honoured and surprised to have been chosen to represent her class. Huszar notes she will miss all the memories made during her years in elementary and secondary school, adding she hopes her fellow graduates go far and accomplish all their goals and dreams.

Convocation took place at the Prairie Rose EMC.
