2 forest fires were detected Tuesday in Manitoba and both were in the eastern region.  Fire Program Manager Tom Mirus says 1 fire was in the Sandilands, caused by a train.  When sparks from a train cause a fire, Mirus says people on the train don't usually notice it, and keep moving along.  The fire was small and quickly extinguished.  The other fire was caused by a lightening strike at Beresford Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park.  Right now, 6 of the 32 forest fires burning in Manitoba are in the eastern region.
