Today is Christmas Eve and if you have some last minute gifts to pick up or food to buy, you will want to take note that some of the big box stores are closing a little early today in Steinbach.

Sobeys will be open from 7 am to 6 pm
Superstore will be open from 7 am to 6 pm
Canadian Tire will be open from 8 am to 4 pm
Walmart will be open from 8 am to 6 pm
Shoppers Drug Mart will be open from 8 am to 8 pm
Clearspring Centre will be open from 9:30 am to 5 pm

Tim Schmitt is President of Steinbach Chamber of Commerce. He says Christmas Day will be quiet for retail in Steinbach. Schmitt adds the Steinbach Aquatic Centre and Jake Epp Library will keep their doors closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

According to Schmitt, Boxing Day is not a general or statutory holiday in Manitoba, which means retailers have the choice of whether or not to open. The big box stores will be open that day in Steinbach, though only Walmart is expected to open extra early.

Superstore will be open from 8 am to 6 pm
Shoppers Drug Mart will be open from 10 am to 10 pm
Canadian Tire will be open from 9 am to 5 pm
Sobeys will be open from 9 am to 6 pm
Clearspring Centre will be open from 9:30 am to 5 pm
